SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Oct. 12, 2026 – Damian Maggio, fund manager at Global Venture Management, an SEC-registered investment adviser formed in 2021, today shared his view on why many of the most valuable artificial-intelligence companies are choosing to stay private longer, and what that means for investors.

“The best AI companies can raise billions without ever going public,” said Damian Maggio, fund manager of Global Venture Management. “That means much of the growth may happen before an IPO, when most investors can’t participate.”

Maggio pointed to three forces behind the trend:

Private capital at scale: Large private rounds and strategic partners now fund growth that once needed public markets.

Active secondary markets: Employees and early investors can sell shares privately, which reduces pressure to list.

Control over timing: Founders can wait for the right market window instead of being forced into one.

“For investors, the question isn’t only which company. It’s when and how you get access,” Maggio said. “Secondary markets have become one of the main paths in, and they demand careful diligence on price, structure, and liquidity.”

Damian Maggio of Global Venture Management added that private investments carry high risk, including illiquidity and the possible loss of the entire investment.
